The working screen of a local knowledge app. A file tree, one or two document panes, a context sidebar, and an agent that can be either a column or the whole centre. Its gesture is tear-off: a tab you peel off stays the tab, and the pane you aim at opens the exact half it would take.

Taken from Obsidian and Zed, the screen either one opens to. The layout model is deliberately not theirs: two panes, no nesting..

Nothing has left this block as a component yet. A part leaves once it can be described by what it does under the hand, and beats the best version anywhere.
